Zombieland is a 2009 American post-apocalyptic horror comedy film directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The film stars Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin as survivors of a zombie apocalypse. The movie centers on a young man named Columbus who makes a cross-country trek to find the last known outpost of human civilization. Along the way, he encounters bands of murderous zombies as well as other survivors - some friendly, some not so friendly - from an assortment of different walks of life with their own unique agendas for survival. Columbus (Woody Harrelson) is a small town teenager obsessed with the film "Zombieland", which resembles his life as a loner going to a rundown college, being ostracized by his classmates, and having a crush on a girl he has never spoken to. In order to be closer to his idol, Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), he steals the man's distinctive black hat. He is knocked unconscious by Tallahassee's brother, Wichita (Emma Stone). The siblings and Columbus then accidentally run over and kill an elderly man during an attempt to steal their RV. The three then take off in the RV and eventually meet two sisters, Wichita's girlfriend Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), and a stripper, Atlanta (Suki Waterhouse). On their way to an amusement park called "Casa De Calacas" (House of Skeletons), they stop at a gas station. There, two more people join them: an amputee named Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) who is bitter about being left behind by his partners, and a patriotic young woman from Louisiana named Tallahassee (Abigail Breslin). The group is pursued by zombies, whom they refer to as "walkers". Tallahassee announces that he intends to find the rumored sanctuary of Seattle. They break into a mansion and are attacked by its owner, the elderly "Survivalist" (Woody Harrelson) who amputated his own leg to free himself from a trap. He has booby trapped the house with shotguns. He invites them in and then betrays them. He proclaims that this is "his world" and locks them in. Tallahassee uses his C4 to blow up the house, inadvertently killing the Survivalist. They temporarily settle in a hotel where they encounter two rich frat boys named Whitaker (Jack Black) and Frank (Willem Dafoe). They make up a story about a fake hotel to avoid paying for a room. The group eventually splits up after an incident with some zombies, with Tallahassee and Wichita going one way and Columbus going another, claiming that they are going to meet in Los Angeles. Columbus then meets two other women. The first is Brooke (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who is looking for her boyfriend, so she joins Columbus. They soon encounter another woman named Alabama (Megan Fox), who proves to be selfish and cold-hearted from the start.
